Presto Chango ATC

When you give this card to someone, it looks like it is finished with the 4 colored corners and the black image stamped on white paper.  But, when they pull it from it’s sleeve, it takes on a whole new colorful look – - just like magic.  The stamped image looks dimensional because it is a double stamping.  The card is very easy to do and, other than the drying time for the inks, probably takes 10 minutes or less to make.

You will need: One ATC Clear Sleeve

One card back with a plain side to decorate

2 1/2” x 3 1/2”” white cardstock or paper

4 Brads or eyelets

4” x 6” Transparency

3-D Crystal Lacquer (or clear glue that will adhere paper to plastic

Black permanent ink pad ( I used StazOn)

Something to color the background (I used 3 colors of Cat’s Eye Chalk Pads)

One rubber stamp image that will fit in a 2” x 3” area (or smaller)

Snip 1 of the 4 corners from your white 2 ½” x 3 ½” paper.  Using the snipped corner as a guide, mark the other 3 corners and cut them off to match.

Glue the white piece with the 4 corners removed to your clear sleeve and set aside.

Using your 3 inks, color your background card.  On the sample shown below, I thought about the image on the stamp I was going to use and colored in the general areas where the centers of the flowers would be, petals, etc.  Other suggestions for coloring the background are to use markers, chalks or watercolors.

Ink up your stamp with black permanent ink and stamp onto your background.  Ink your stamp again with the same ink and stamp onto a transparency.  Set aside transparency to dry.

Punch holes in two ends of your card as shown below.   Insert either brads or eyelets.

When your stamped transparency image is dry, lay your stamped card underneath, aligning the two images.  Trim the transparency to the card size while keeping the images aligned.

Punch one hole into the 3rd corner and insert a brad or eyelet.  Then do the 4th hole.  Trim the transparency if you find it is hanging over the edge after the two are attached.

Go back to your card sleeve that you glued the white paper to and snip the two corners on the “open” end.  This is needed to allow your card to slip all the way in when finished.

Slip your card inside your sleeve and your Presto Chango card is complete.
