RolTap Ink Application Tool !

     How can I describe this unique tool?  I think the best way would be to compare it to a brayer -- only in "mini" form -- and you get two, one on each end.  This is a great idea since you can use two colors of inks simultaneously without muddying your ink pads or cleaning between uses.  The high density, absorbent foam roller works very well for picking up and transferring most inks for a unique finished result.  Roll and tap this tool on your inkpad and again on your artwork piece to produce a variegated inking pattern for elegant effects with stencils, stamps, back-grounding, "mask-resist" and other papercraft techniques.

     I have used this tool with the ColorBox Fluid Chalk Inks (see some results in the photo below) and I absolutely loved the results!.  The RolTap made it easy to get into small places and it was easy to maneuver around curves and corners.  The Fluid Chalks gave a wonderfully creamy result to the stenciled design and dried very quickly which eliminated smearing after waiting only a few seconds.  

     The tool itself measures 5 1/2" from one roller end to the other and the cost is only $4.50 each.  The handle has grooves on each end and is shaped for comfortable use.

     Some more ideas include:

1.  Use it with clear embossing ink and have fun with different embossing powders for great backgrounds.  Try embossing between colors for a ribbon effect.  Metallics would be fun!

2.  Plaid backgrounds for scrapbooking would be fun and easy with this tool.

3.  Edge your layers for great frames.

4.  Use your punches to make your own stencils with cardstock and the RolTap will help you make some great backgrounds in quick haste!

Ink Pads: Ink surface measures 1 7/8" x 2 1/8" and has a raised surface.  $4.95 each

Cat's Eyes: Pad surface is 3/4" wide by 1 1/2" long.  The shape is oval.  The ink surface is raised and these are great for DTP (Direct To Paper).  $1.98 each.

Refill:  .5 ounce of Fluid Chalk Ink in convenient nozzle bottle.  You put it on your pad by drops after shaking very well.  $3.95 each.
